3 Pairs of Faux Leather Leggings That Are Worth Your Time

Happy #TryOnConfidential Friday, I’m back this week to re-discuss a topic I’ve become very knowledgable in:
faux leather leggings! An item that has become a staple in my wardrobe, in many varieties. Here’s what you need to know to decide which pair may be right for you.

In case you’ve missed my previous posts, you can check them out here and here!
This year, I’m back to spill the tea on my top 3 favorites and give you the pros/cons so that you can make an educated decision is the best for you! Be sure to tune into my stories (saved as a highlight in case you miss it).

Pair #1: Spanx

SIZING: XS-3X petite and regular length, I wear an XL
On Spanx’s website, use CARALYN10 for a discount!

I like to call these the faux leather leggings for beginners. They are more like a black legging with a sheen / coating on them rather than a true leather but they’re lightweight and great for a more subtle look… perfect for someone who wants to dip their toes into the trend. I size up to an XL because can be sheer when stretched. They also come in other detailed variety like these moto version and a quilted style.

Pair #2: Commando

SIZING: XS-XL, I wear L

These are more of a true leather-like legging. They are thin but sturdy and come in a bunch of different colors. These leggings take a little wiggling to get into them but I can assure you, they’re worth the wiggle! I wish they went higher than an XL. According to the size chart, I should wear a large but found they stretched out and I think it really depends on how curvy you are.

Pair #3: Lysse

Sizing: XS-XL and 1X-3X, I wear a L

These are the thickest of the group but these are also very leather like! They have a wide tummy panel that goes up if you prefer a high waisted that helps you feel sucked in. These aren’t my favorite to wash but they don’t need to be washed every time you wear them so I’d recommend spot cleaning them as needed. Of all of the leggings, these are the most cold weather friendly and are extremely comfortable.

styled with sweater blazer (size large), similar style linked here, white blouse (size large), similar white blouse (size large), and leopard loafers (size 11).

FINAL TAKEAWAYS + TIPS:

Make sure you’re wearing seamless underwear or a high waisted thong so that you’re not dealing with any sort of visible panty line.

If your leggings are a little long on you, you can easily & quickly hem them by folding the bottom of the leggings by cuffing them underneath.

All of the leggings shown may look similar but they are all very different. I hope this post helps you decide which one is best for you. Still stuck? I’d recommend buying your two top favorites and trying them on. You’ll understand what I mean when you feel them for yourself!
