The Friday Fit

Welcome back to another week of The Friday Fit! My chance to reflect on the past week and share what’s been happening on a more personal note. Perhaps it’ll inspire you to do the same! Let’s get to it.

Our morning walks are still going strong. I think we’ve had an exceptionally nice fall or maybe I’m just paying more attention to this one…

Two of my favorite fellas. My dear friend and photographer Ryan is moving out of Buffalo at the end of the month. He will be hard to replace and I’m not coping well with it. Luckily, Ryan has been kind enough to show BK the ropes so he can help me once Ryan is gone.

My favorite part of pumpkin season = pumpkin seeds! My dad used to make these all the time growing up when we carved pumpkins. I just rinse them and pop them in the oven on 375/400 for 20-30 minutes with little coconut oil spray or Pam butter flavored and Kosher salt. They are the perfect snack and I can never keep them around for more than a day or two.

I mentioned in last week’s Friday Fit that I wanted to make Ina Garten’s Tomato Bisque! It was a little tricky to track down saffron threads but I do think it was worth it. No tomato soup is complete without a grilled cheese! I used sharp cheddar on Tuscan bread on a grill pan.

My mom (VP of organization) came over and helped with Prime Day deals. While she was over, we recorded a video on our best tips for purging/organizing your closet. You can watch our IGTV here! Part 2 needs to be how to keep your closet clean! Outfit details here.

One of my favorite sayings by Tabitha Brown! Her page brings me so much joy, especially on days when I’m feeling a little down.

TGIF, my friends! We made it through another week. This week’s workflow was dominated by #PrimeDay - it was all hands on deck to scope out the best deals. You can always shop my Amazon finds in my storefront too! If you snagged any of my finds, I’d love to see / hear about them. Tag me in your stories, I’d love to share on my IG stories too. It’s hard to believe that holiday shopping is already on the horizon, even with the holidays potentially looking a lot different this year. I look forward to *hopefully* help make your shopping easier again this season.

T-minus 17 days until Election Day, do you have your voting plan in place?
BK and I plan on going in person and I’ve triple checked that we are good to go!

As for this weekend, no major plans. BK wants to clean / organize the basement but that really isn’t my idea of a good time. We did apply our stick on wallpaper and it wasn’t that bad! I must’ve measured incorrectly so we needed to re-order the last panel. I’ll do a reveal once it’s complete! As I mentioned above, my photographer Ryan is moving at the end of the month. I’ve very sad about it but I’ve been trying to shoot with him as much as possible before he leaves. We’re going to do a “just for fun” shoot this weekend with some fall foliage. Somehow BK agreed to shoot three different outfits so I’m taking full advantage of it. Can’t wait to share!

Recipe wise, I’ve been eyeing up Half Baked Harvest’s Spinach and Artichoke Stuffed Soft Pretzels and Damn Delicious’ Easy Beef + Broccoli. I’m not a baker by any means but I saw Martha Stewart on the Today Show making her Vanilla Zebra cake and I’m intrigued. Anyone have an occasion coming up that I can justify making this glorious looking cake?

Any fun weekend plans? Any requests? Thanks for reading! I hope you have a fabulous weekend! xx CMK
