The Friday Fit: Peaks and Pits

Welcome back to another edition of The Friday Fit! My weekly chance to pause, reflect and share a little more on the past week. Let’s get into it:

Last weekend we got a chance to snap some pictures in peak fall foliage with my beloved photographer, Ryan! We managed to shoot three different outfits (two with Lil Walter) so I’m excited to have these, cherish these and potentially use one for our holiday card. Outfit details are here!

Although peak foliage is something that makes me very happy (I’ve been mentioning it here for weeks), it’s also a reminder that winter is coming. BK and I thrive in the warmer months so seeing the leaves fall is a bit of a ‘pit’ bracing ourselves a long winter ahead.

Oreo made my day/week/month/year/life by sending me these limited edition rainbow cookies in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. They launched their #ProudParent campaign, a year-long initiative designed to shine a spotlight on the powerful impact love & acceptance can have on LGBTQ+ youth. Highly encourage you to watch this video and read more details on how you can enter to win a pack of your own here.

I was so touched and humbled to see one of my youngest readers (age 11) recreate one of my favorite athleisure looks. Shout out to her amazing mama for providing the new look and this incredibly diverse community of all ages and backgrounds!

Equilibria came out with new seasonal flavors of their daily drops. When I first started taking it, I REALLY struggled with the grassy/earthy taste (I definitely got used to it) but I LOVE the flavor options. These are incredible, big fan of these for the season. “Caralynmirand” still works for 15% off in case you’re interested in trying for yourself.

We’re dogsitting my mom’s dog, Teddy again. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly these two get comfortable with each other. They love being next to each other all day long. Snapped this the other day before bed. Yes, we’re ‘dogs in the bed’ people — never thought I would be but… here we are.

Well my gals and guys, we made it to Friday once again! Cheers to that. This week I shared my suggestions on how to shop tops for leggings, a little holiday outfit inspiration (too soon?) and on a more personal note, I shared about when I’m feeling overwhelmed and six things I do to manage that. As I mentioned in the post, I always intend for my “corner of the internet” to be a positive, inclusive, and uplifting space. With that said however, being transparent and authentic is also extremely important to me so I would not be truthful if I said there aren't days where I feel just depleted and stressed. In case you also may be feeling this way, know you are not alone.

This weekend I’m taking one of my good friends to go get fitted for a bra at Lace & Day, if you’ve been around here for a minute you know this actually my idea of a good time. It never gets old, seeing that “bra-ha” moment and seeing confidence instantly transformed! If you’re able to do so in a safe way, highly encourage you to go get fitted at a local specialty shop or Nordstrom.

I shared some pretty intriguing recipes last week but went totally rogue over the weekend and made this French Onion soup recipe. I woke up last Saturday with the taste for it so after a few minutes researching, I stumbled upon that one. It was a big hit and relatively easy (hardest part was cutting onions and waiting for them to caramelize). Let me know if you try it, it got the BK stamp of approval. *Chefs kiss*

What are you up to this weekend? Have any requests? Leave it here. As always, thanks for reading! xx CMK
