My Morning Routine

Happy Monday, my friends! I thought it’d be fun to dive into my morning routine. Pre-COVID, I was traveling so frequently that it was hard for me to establish a daily routine. While each day always brings something different in my line of work, I find a lot of comfort in routine. BK and I have been doing this for the past couple of months and I actually enjoy waking up and tackling the day in this order!

6:00AM - WAKE UP
Wakeup + watch the local news. I’ve been trying to avoid my social media + emails until at least 8AM, most days I fail at this but I always feel better when I do! Even if lying in bed, I try to think of at least three things I’m grateful for— always gets me in a good headspace to start the day.
6:45AM - HOUSEHOLD CHORES + GOAL SETTING
Make coffee, unload / reload dishwasher, create my “to-do” list for the day. My mind is always fresh and whirling first thing so I like to make sure I write down any ideas I woke up with or tasks! If I finish early, I’ll usually spend about ~20 minutes answering DM’s while sipping on coffee and watching the Today Show.
7:30AM - WORKOUT
Meet BK downstairs for a workout. He usually starts about 45 minutes before me. I’ll do a mile incline walk on the treadmill and we’ll do about 30-40 minutes of weight lifting before waking up our dog, Walter, for a walk.
8:30AM - WALK
This has quickly become my favorite part of the day. We’ve been doing mile walks in our neighborhood and it’s our chance to chat about what’s on tap for the day. Walter has also been enjoying his extra movement.
9:00AM - BREAKFAST
I’ll usually do one of the following: scrambled eggs with EBTB seasoning, an english muffin and sliced tomatoes, two over easy eggs, english muffin and fruit or oatmeal + fruit. I’ll take a few drops of my CBD after I eat too! More on my CBD journey here.
9:20AM - SHOWER / GET READY FOR THE DAY
I always wash my face + apply skincare, 5/7 days I’ll apply dry shampoo and apply at least a little bit of makeup. Maybe it’s time for an updated 5 minute makeup routine?
10:00AM AND ON: NEVER THE SAME
This is when I’ll sit down and try to clear my inbox, content planning, submit sponsored content for approval, organize content that needs to be photographed, work on social + blog content, email blasts, responding to DM’s, manage incoming product (I receive 30-40 packages per week), record/film content and much more! I rarely have the same day twice (although quarantine has certainly come close to it).
