BK Q+A: Ask Brian Anything
What’s up guys. BK here again to answer some quick questions that I am sure you were all dying to know about the man reluctantly behind the camera. Thanks for submitting your questions last week! I had fun going through them. Maybe we can do this again sometime? Let us hear your thoughts below.
What did you do before becoming Caralyn's intern and before COVID?
I've worked in IT for the last 10 years in multiple different roles, most recently I worked for a local headware and apparel company in Buffalo managing their IT Operations team.
Will I be Caralyn's intern forever or go back to what I did before COVID?
Depends on if Caralyn will keep me on and invest in my career as an Instagram husband. In all seriousness, we've always talked about working together pre-COVID so we are taking advantage of this time so I want to help where I can. It has been super cool to watch her grow over the past year and see the work she puts in daily so I would love to continue to help her grow her platform.
What is the most "intern" thing Caralyn asks me to do?
Helping her shoot content, throwing a bra, shirt, jacket, accessory etc in the reels you see.
What are your favorite qualities about Caralyn?
I'm drawn to her sense of humor. Outside of that I love that what you see is exactly what you get with her. She really is such a positive person and role model, practicing what she preaches online and off - I really admire her and everything she has accomplished.
Does Caralyn snore?
Surprisingly, no. I actually check on her in the middle of the night to make sure she is breathing, she’s a heavy sleeper.
Who has more clothing?
I have two closets of clothes. Caralyn has one....but also 8 rolling racks in the basement.
Do I dress myself or does Caralyn try to?
I don't think Caralyn has ever tried to dress me. Its mostly me asking her if an outfit looks good or matches or her telling me it looks good so we can leave and not be late for wherever we are going.
What are your favorite stores and how do you create Your looks?
I keep it simple. J.Crew has been my go to for a while for seasonal fashion. I like to buy pieces that work for my body type. So knowing your size and fit for particular brands is key. From there I style based on the season and occasion. I like to keep my style simple and dress for my age but still keep up with trends.
This season I picked up a bunch of items from the LL. Bean x Todd Snyder release, including flannels. I like to keep an eye out for cool collab’s like that. J. Crew, L.L Bean, Amazon are all my favorites for flannels, I’m all about that slim fit.
Favorite Workout clothes?
Any brand with short shorts and sleeveless shirts. Under Armour has historically been my go to but Gymshark has slowly taken over in the past year.
Favorite joggers and loungewear?
I swear by Rhone Commuter Joggers (and their other Commuter pants) they were my go to travel pants, back when travel was a thing. I also like Vuori Ripstop Climber Pant and Amazon Brand joggers. Vuori is more athlesiure while Amazon’s are casual enough to wear out with a pair of sneakers. Vuori has some of my favorite loungewear, highly recommend checking them out if you haven’t. I’ll also wear J.Crew sweatshirts, henley’s and hoodies.
Favorite Skincare, hairstyling products and cologne?
My wife has relayed the importance of taking care of my skin. She introduced me to First Aid Beauty’s FAB Skin Lab Retinol Eye Cream with Triple Hyaluronic Acid, First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer and I’ll also use L'Oreal Mens VitaLift Daily Moisturizer.
For hair, I like Uppercut Mens Matte Pomade.
Cologne: Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme
