What Shoes To Wear With Straight Leg Jeans

HOW TO style your straight leg jeans

Whenever a new trend hits, it can feel a tad overwhelming. Can I rock this? How do I style? Do I need to purchase a whole new wardrobe around it? So today, we’re digging into the highly requested topic… what shoes to wear with straight leg jeans! In case you missed it, I previously shared my Fall 2021 Denim Guide and a few of my Fall Shoe Favorites. Now let’s put them both together and see the many ways you can style them together, you may be surprised how many work well. In my experience, I’ve noticed it can take a little experimenting with the cuts of the straight leg denim. I really love the way Madewell jeans fit me, especially their Vintage fit. Today I’m wearing The Curvy Perfect Vintage Jean in Fiore Wash in a 31R (I’m 5’8.5/ usually a 14 for reference).

Flats

Pointed toe, rounded toe and square toe flats look great with the relaxed leg opening of straight leg jeans! I’m wearing one of my oldest pairs of flats, they are SO comfortable, travel and wash really well. I love the pop of color it adds to this classic look. Here’s a similar look for less!

Sneakers

One of the few things I wear through all four seasons is a classic white sneaker! I discovered this pair about a month ago and love the cognac detail on the heel. When wearing sneakers with a straight leg jean, I prefer a pair that isn’t too bulky or has too high of a tongue in order to elongate the leg. I also love these ones and these for that reason! Don’t forget to wear your no-show socks with them too.

Style With

Loafers

These loafers are one of my most worn pairs, I love them so much I’ve purchased three pairs. There are more color options here! They work really well with straight leg jeans because they’re low on the ankle are a tad dressier, making them great for business casual situations. You could also pair these with the button down or a blazer!

Style With

Heels

I LOVE the simplicity and sexiness of a pair of jeans and heels. Do you see how quickly this look became elevated? It’s not a particularly fancy outfit, but a classic pair of heels just kicks it up a notch. I love this pair with the cap toe but you could go classic with a pointed toe pump too. Here’s another pair I love too.

Style With

Ankle Boots

I really struggled with the boots and jeans thing, it can be really hard to get the proportions right. I typically like to roll/cuff my jeans slightly when wearing skinny jeans. But for straight leg, I like that they just go right over the top of these ankle boots. Here’s a similar pair for less!

Style With

Mules

I LOVE a pair of pointed toe mules, especially in the transitional weather months. They work beautifully with straight leg jeans and I love a pointed toe to visually elongate the leg. I also love this pair. If you’ve ever struggled with slipping out of the mules, definitely check out these mule socks!

Do you feel a little more confident to try the straight leg jean now? Would love to hear! Be sure to take a look through more of my fall fashion content on the blog! I hope you found this helpful, thanks so much for reading! xx CMK
