BK's Espresso Martini Recipe
Happy Thirsty Thursday! Excited to share a fun cocktail to get you ready for the weekend, this is one of BK’s absolute favorites. Oftentimes when we travel to new places, we like to try out the espresso martinis at different restaurants to see who has the best one. We prefer ours darker in color (as opposed to light and more cream based) but if shaken properly, it gives a nice creamy, foamy top. I like this as an after dinner (dessert) drink but BK doesn’t discriminate, he enjoys it anytime to get the party started or keep it going.
We make our espresso in our Breville machine that we’ve had a few years and love, we use these pods - it’s better if you can make your espresso fresh so it’s foamy. Try to chill it before mixing (you can throw it in the freezer for a few minutes) so your cocktail is nice and cold!
BK’s ESPRESSO MARTINI
INGREDIENTS:
2 ounces of vodka (we like Tito’s)
1/2 ounce coffee liqueur (we like Kahlúa)
1 ounce espresso freshly brewed (or cold brew concentrate in a pinch)
1/2 ounce simple syrup (I usually try to get a lite one like this)
Coffee beans for garnish
DIRECTIONS:
Brew the coffee and let it cool completely. In a rush, add to the freezer for a few minutes.
Add ice to a cocktail shaker then add the espresso, simple syrup, Kahlúa and vodka.
Shake very hard so the foam is formed then strain it quickly into a martini glass. Top with coffee beans, serve and enjoy!
Every host/hostess needs a fabulous cocktail set and glasses!
I really love these vintage-inspired coup glasses, they’re great for martinis and champagne! I also really love this gold cocktail set, it would make a fabulous hostess gift with a bottle of liquor.
