Empty Beauty Finds
I’m always fascinated when others share their trials and tribulations on things they found and loved, especially when it comes to beauty products. This winter has been particularly harsh on my skin. I plan to do an updated skincare routine post soon, you can check out my previously noted favorites here. In the meantime, I wanted to share a number of my favorite beauty related empties that I’ve had some luck with.
LIVING PROOF PERFECT HAIR DAY DRY SHAMPOO
This stuff is my holy grail hair product. I’ve used it for years but I’ve only been using it properly more recently. I’ve done a few tutorials on how to use this dry shampoo most recently here! I used to wash my hair every single day until I started using Living Proof, now I can go much longer. To read more about my hair favorites, you can check out this post.
U BEAUTY THE SUPER SMART HYDRATOR
This was my first experience with U Beauty and I was really impressed! It’s lightweight but extremely hydrating. I am a huge fan of founder, Tina Craig and all that she has done for the influencer industry so I knew I had to give this a go. Tina is a straight shooter so I trusted her and I was really impressed, I’d definitely be interested in trying out more from the line.
COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD MATCHA TEA TONER
I absolutely love Colleen Rothschild products, you can read more about my favorites here and here. This is my third bottle of this toner. I love how light and gentle it is, not to mention the amazing scent. I’ll use this after cleansing but before serums and moisturizer with a cotton square.
COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD INTENSE HYDRATING MASK
This was the first Coleen Rothschild product that convinced me of the brand. It is LEGIT. It’s probably my fifth or sixth tube of this. I used to keep a tube in my travel bag for long flights to stay hydrated. It’s formulated for tight, dry, rough or dehydrated skin. This treatment helps strengthen elasticity, leaving skin with a youthful suppleness and radiance. You can tissue it off but I usually lather it on at night and wash off in the morning.
COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD SHEER RENEWAL CREAM
This was my third tube of this oil-free formula which provides continuous weightless hydration and promotes new cell turnover to help minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It layers really nicely with other serums and creams, applied after serums and will forever keep this in my moisturizer rotation.
FIRST AID BEAUTY ULTRA REPAIR HYDRATING SERUM
If you’re just dipping your toes into the serum game, this would be a great one to start with. This was probably my 10th container. It is formulated with skin renewing ingredients Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen and Peptides, this serum helps hydrate and improve the overall appearance of skin. Its lightweight gel texture locks in moisture for a healthy, youthful looking complexion. Layers perfectly under your AM and PM moisturizers. Will never not use this stuff!
COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD FACE OIL NO 9
I always thought that because I have combination skin, oils wouldn’t be the best for me but boy, was a wrong. Since I tend to get a little oily on my T-zone during the day, I only use this at night. It makes my skin feel supple and soft in the morning.
AUGUSTINUS BADER THE RICH CREAM
I’ve seen this all over some of my favorite fellow creator’s accounts so I knew I had to give it a try. It’s an intensely luxurious, super hydrating cream that stimulates skin's natural processes of rejuvenation for dramatic improvements. I liked what I used for dryness but thought the 0.5 oz bottle went wayyyyy too quickly. If you’re going to splurge, get the 1.0oz or larger.
RITUAL ESSENTIAL FOR WOMEN MULTIVITAMIN 18+
I’ve used Ritual vitamins for about 1.5+ years now and I’m a firm believer in their products and company. They’re committed to transparency, you can trace all of their ingredients back to their origins. Ritual vitamins are vegan friendly, gluten and major allergen free, non-GMO and don’t have any artificial colorants or synthetic fillers. I have them on auto-ship so I never have to worry about replenishing. You can use “CARALYNM” for 10% off your first three months!
I take these alongside my Ritual vitamins every single night before bed to help me sleep. I’ve been using CBD for well over a year now, you can read more about my current CBD routine here. If you’re new to CBD, I highly recommend starting with a Balance or Brilliance Box subscription. It works best when used consistently, is a lot cheaper than a one-time purchase and it’s easy to cancel if you’re not into it. You can use “caralynmirand” at checkout for a discount!
LAURA MERCIER SECRET BRIGHTENING POWDER FOR UNDER EYES
Another repeat favorite, this is probably my fifth container of this powder. I used to think all powders were the same and let me tell you, they are NOT! I swear by this stuff for setting under eye concealer and adding a touch of brightness to the undereye. I apply it with a damp beauty sponge, most recently seen on my tutorial everyday makeup here.
NARS SOFT MATTE COMPLETE CONCEALER
I typically go back and forth between buying the matte concealer and the radiant creamy concealer in shade ‘Custard.’ I first discovered this product over 5+ years ago during my time on set as a model, almost every makeup artist had this in their kit. I like this formula because it is thick, best used when warmed up with your fingertip and pressed gently into the skin. It has medium to full coverage, perfect for blemishes or under eyes.
TULA HYDRATING DAY AND NIGHT CREAM
Tula gets a bad rap as overhyped but I’ve been using their products on and off since 2015. I think some of their products have really worked for me and for a few people I know and love. Their cream is great for an everyday moisturizer, the formula is light and works well underneath makeup. I prefer this formula more in the summertime because I’ve been noticing I need a little bit more hydration during this time of year. A few other products I love are the cooling & brightening eye balm, detox in a jar and their nourishing & brightening hydrogel mask. Just checked and “CARALYN” still works for a discount if you’re interested in trying.
GOT EMPTIES?
Seeing all of these empties piled up made me feel wasteful. Luckily, one of my kind readers reminded me of Nordstrom’s partnership with Terracycle so you can bring your empties to any Nordstrom location for free. From there, they will take your empties and recycle them for free! Their goal is to recycle 100 tons of packaging by 2025.
I hope you enjoyed digging through my empties! Should I do this more often? Feel free to leave any questions or beauty related requests below. Thanks for reading! xx CMK
