VACATION BEAUTY FAVORITES
When it comes to my vacation beauty routine, I like to focus on sun protection and hydration, so today, I wanted to share a few of my favorite products to bring along and how I store them.
Iβve previously shared a few of my sunscreen favorites on this post and have since discovered a few more. It was essential to find reef-safe sunscreen in Hawaii, as all others are banned from being sold on the island. I was under the impression that all Sun Bum products were reef safe but contained Avobenzone, which I'm told is more "reef-friendly" than 100% safe. It's frustrating because they were marketed as reef-safe and even say that on the bottle! We were in the pool most days, so it didn't affect us too much, but something worth mentioning if you're planning a trip.
Do not forget about protecting your lips! I've used a bunch of balms over the years, but my favorite lately has been this one. If I'm not wearing a hat, I like to use this spray for sun protection (it smells so good) and this one for detangling after a long beach day. I like to travel with this small but mighty wet brush that works well post-shower.
I don't wear a ton of makeup on vacation, but I love using this CC cream that has SPF in it. I find it applies best with a damp beauty sponge. I wouldn't consider this mascara to be waterproof technically, but the formula is tubular, so it doesn't flake off or create any "raccoon eyes." With soap and water, it comes off in tube-like formations. It's one of my all-time favorite formulas. I like to stock up on minis of what I typically use for skincare, like First Aid Beauty. They've got a ton of value sets that are great for trying out the brand and traveling. I purchased this makeup bag a few months ago, and I've been pleased with it! I also like to organize my toiletries in this hanging bag that packs flat, perfect for carry-ons. I also love these clear cases to keep other items organized.
Thank you so much for reading! Feel free to leave any questions or any of your favorite vacation essentials below. If you enjoyed this post, be sure to check out the other travel-related posts on the blog as well. Thanks for reading! xx CMK
