Your Guide To Wedding Guest and Special Occasion Dresses 2022
As life continues to open up and my calendar is stacked with events, showers, weddings, and other celebratory occasions, I thought it’d be helpful to share some of my recent dress finds and general tips around shopping for them. I’ve already begun sharing some of my finds on my Dress ‘22 highlight on Instagram and a folder on the LTK app, so definitely check those out if you haven’t already.
The problem with shopping for special occasion dresses is that it seems everyone else is shopping for them, so things sell out quickly. For example, I photographed the above photo a few weeks ago, and it has already sold out in most sizes, so I tried to link similar options. Luckily for you, I’ve put together a great list of retailers that will constantly auto-populate with new arrivals. The moral of the story, if you see something you like online, it’s worth buying and trying (even if you need to return). Here are some best practices for buying online and trying at home…
before trying on
The buying and the trying-on process can be draining. Even though it is my job to try on clothes, I have to be in the right mood/mindset. A few things that help me get there are doing my hair and makeup. It gives me an instant confidence boost (be careful not to get any residue on the clothes). I also like to have a pair of heels nearby when trying things on. It’s also essential to have on properly fitting undergarments (the right size and style of bra can make all of the difference in fit).
Sometimes, I try on dresses with shapewear to help visualize the outfit and feel how it will be. These tips help me visualize how the look will come together for the occasion! I also like to manage expectations. When I place a big order, I say to myself, “If I find ONE that I feel amazing in, I will call it a win!”

I would strongly suggest you to spend some time and check out the retailers mentioned above. I have also posted a few from our recent trip to Cabo for a beach wedding as well as a recent trip to Hawaii. I have also done a review on Lilly Pulitzer’s new arrivals and will definitely share more dresses throughout the season as I find them. You can also search “dress” on my account via the LTK app to see previous looks that I’ve shared.
Do you have any special occasions coming up this year? I would love to hear about them! Or maybe you’ve already found your dress, and you’re just looking for the proper undergarments. Be sure to check out this post! I hope this post is helpful. I’ll update this post as I come across more this season. Feel free to leave any questions below. Thanks for reading! xx CMK
