SPRING SHOE REFRESH

Let’s talk shoes! Every season I like to hit the refresh button on my shoe wardrobe, as a size 11 it can be tricky to find shoes but over the years I’ve found my go-to brands and options that work well for me.

When it comes to sneakers, I like what I like and I’ll never stop loving these little white sneakers that I previously dedicated an entire blog post to! I’ve recently purchased my third pair, I wear them year-round so they get beat up even though are extremely easy to clean. I recommend using a magic eraser or some white sneaker paint/polish to keep the laces looking fresh. Don’t forget to rock them with the best no-show socks ever (I wear size 11 shoe and these fit well), previously featured on your most loved items from 2021! I’ve been slowly but surely opening my mind up to the trendier styles of sneakers this year and I’ve been loving these from J.Crew that come in a few colors but find this neutral pair the most versatile. For workouts, I’ve had these pull on sneakers for awhile and finally got another pair. They’re great for workouts and long walks around the neighborhood, the cloud foam is so comfortable! If interested, I’ve previously shared some of my favorite socks here.

For more work friendly, day-to-day styles I’m seeing TONS of color. If you’re someone who wears lots of neutrals, shoes are a great way to add a pop of color into your look. Some of my favorite styles are loafers and mules. If you’ve ever resisted backless styles you may consider mule socks like these and these that have little grips at the bottom to help keep the foot in place.

If you prefer a heeled back, these loafers I’ve owned for several years. They’re by far the most comfortable loafer I’ve ever worn, break in easily and have decent support for a flat. Here is a similar look for less, I love the pearl detail! I don’t wear socks with these but you could consider a no-show loafer sock like these. I also love Rothy’s flats but know they are quite a splurge so here and here are similar looks for less.

As I’ve gotten older and even through the past couple of years, I find myself gravitating towards lower heeled options. Luckily, more and more are becoming available so when I feel like I need just a little bit of height, styles like these give me the look I’m trying to achieve without the discomfort of high heels.
