Merry Everything: A Holiday Wish and Reflections
a heartfelt holiday wish
As the holiday season is upon us, I wanted to take a moment to reflect, share, and connect with this incredible community that has meant so much to me throughout the year. First, let me say: Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and however you celebrate this season, I hope it’s filled with love, laughter, and connection.
Today, I’m sharing a glimpse of our family holiday card photos—some of my favorites this year. Behind each smile is a mix of chaos (as many of you know, with a toddler and a dog, chaos is guaranteed) and joy. It felt important to capture and share these moments of togetherness amidst all the highs and lows this year has brought.
Reflecting on the Year
Before slowing things down on the blog for the rest of the year, I want to express how deeply grateful I am for all of you. Your support, encouragement, and presence here mean the world to me. It’s been a year of challenges and growth—a bittersweet mix of heartbreak and joy.
The holidays feel extra tender this year. We’re mourning the loss of our dear friend Kelly while still finding so much happiness and pride in the little things—especially in Conrad, who fills our lives with boundless joy. Life can be so tough, but even in the difficult moments, there’s so much to be grateful for.
Holiday Plans
This season, we’re embracing family traditions, old and new. We’ll be splitting our time evenly between our families (always a juggle, but a precious one). One tradition that holds special meaning is making my great-grandmother’s sauce and meatballs in honor of my late uncle, who taught me the recipe. He passed away three years ago this week, and recreating it keeps his memory alive in such a tangible, comforting way.
We’re also looking forward to catching up with friends, soaking up the moments, and (fingers crossed) staying healthy. After being hit with a nasty cold this week, we’re hoping to bounce back and savor the festivities. And of course, we’ll be enjoying my mom’s quiche recipe on Christmas morning and leaving a few of my dad’s famous cutout cookies for Santa.
What’s Next?
While things will slow down a bit here on the blog and social media over the holidays, I’m not disappearing entirely! I’ll be sharing updates on our holiday plans, moments of gratitude, and a year-in-review post before ringing in 2025. So, be sure to keep an eye on social media and the blog here for a few special reflections and a sneak peek at what’s ahead.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my interests and passions with you—from fashion, beauty, motherhood, and undergarments, to our home, recipes, and traditions. It’s such a privilege to connect with this community, and I never take it for granted. Thank you for being part of this journey.
Wishing you a joyful holiday season filled with warmth, love, and plenty of rest—and may we all step into the new year with open hearts and renewed hope.
With love,
Caralyn
