Sun’s out, ladies! Summer is officially here. As I’ve begun to switch my beauty routine to accommodate the weather, it got me thinking about my favorite products from face, body and hair that protect my skin all year long.
FOR MY FACE:
My strategy for my face is more is more. While SPF doesn’t “add up” if you layer different products on it, I figured it can’t hurt. I’ve learned SPF should be the last thing applied in your skincare routine. So cleanse, tone, moisturize, SPF and then makeup. If you’re looking for a great moisturizer with SPF, this Elemis one is truly incredible (although a splurge). After my moisturizer, I’ve been LOVING this Glowscreen mixed with this Di-Bronzi Serum. It gives me the most gorgeous glow that I feel good about going sans makeup but also provides a nice base layer for makeup as well. If I have a long day that I need my makeup to really stay on, I use an additional primer. I have used this mineral primer for years, nothing like it compares or keeps my makeup on all day long like this one. However, it is a splurge so I usually like to stock up whenever there is a sale. I only recently realized it has SPF 15!
For a little coverage, I recently started testing out the Ilia Skin Tint and I like it but it’s definitely LIGHT coverage. Some people like that in the summer so I think it’s a great option. For me, I like a little more coverage so my trusted It Cosmetics CC cream with SPF 50 will forever be my favorite — best applied with a damp beauty sponge. For touch ups throughout the day, I like to carry Coola’s Makeup Setting Spray with me. Don’t forget about your lips! I always am sure to have one of these SunBum SPF 30 balms in my bag too.
FOR MY BODY:
Brian is actually super picky about his sunscreen. We discovered Alba Mineral Sunscreen a few years ago and while it takes a little bit of effort to work in, I have NEVER burned (even in the hot Mexico sun) when I’ve used it. My skin gets super dry in the summer so I LOVE using Neutrogena HydroBoost (smells so good) and the size of these are small enough to travel with in your carry on. When I need something more lightweight, I like to use Hawaiian Tropic’s Sheer Touch or Coola’s Sunscreen Spray. Consistency is key!
FOR MY HAIR:
I recently re-discovered Coola’s Scalp and Hair Mist and seriously cannot recommend enough! It’s a little pricey but a little goes a long way and the smell is DIVINE! It doesn’t make your hair super greasy either.
Do you have any sunscreen favorites I may have missed? Would love to hear your thoughts below! Thanks for reading.
