Athleisure and Workout Favorites
let’s talk workout wear
and athleisure, of course!
It’s been a while since I’ve shared an updated list of my go-to athletic and workout wear brands. You’ll see many of these pieces in this post work both for working out and more casual everyday wear because functional and fashionable will forever be the name of the game! While my favorites and go-to brands have relatively stayed the same, I always find that when I feel good and supported working out, I’m more likely to put in the effort and make it a good one!
In case you missed it, I have previously and recently shared my expert picks on sports bras for all sizes and preferences. I have also shared some health and wellness picks, travel outfit ideas, and ways to style wide-leg yoga pants in case you get stuck in a rut while keeping them comfortable! I’ve also shared my suggested retailers for shopping skorts and some styling ideas and previously shared a workout routine. Right now, I’m taking things day by day, but I have been doing a lot on our treadmill (high-incline walking), as well as some strength and mobility training and yoga. The MYX Fitness app has since turned to Beachbody, which I don’t love, but my subscription just rolled over, and I’ve still been using the classes on the bike/app.
WORKOUT CLOTHES I OWN AND LOVE
Once I find something I like, I tend to stay loyal to them, often repurchasing in different colors! I can’t recommend the Spanx Air Essentials line enough. It is the softest but lightest-weight fabric you’ve ever had on your body. If in between, I’d encourage you to size up, and CARALYN10 is still my active Spanx code for free shipping and returns. I’ve had this hoodie for a while, and I find some terrific and soft pieces on Amazon. I try to keep my storefront list updated with all of my athletic finds. Although a splurge, Vuori fabric is some of my favorites. It’s so soft and lightweight, which is great when I need a light layer to warm up in. I’ve had this wrap for a few years now; also a great versatile piece to wear from workouts to weekends.
I shared more about my sports bra favorites in this recent post, and this is one of them! I definitely encourage you to check it out and determine the type of support that is meant for you - did you know there are two different ways to get support from a sports bra? Since I wear sports bras that do not have a racerback, I like to keep my bra straps covered with tanks like this one or this one and this tee which I splurged on but has lasted a long time.
I’m very particular about my leggings and like what I like; I’ve owned all of these leggings for several years, as you can see from my previous legging guide. With the exception of this pair, all of them are a bit of a splurge, but I believe when you find the right style/silhouette for your body type and take care of them, you will get your return on investment. Remember that rolling is typically an indicator of a size issue, so if your leggings roll, you don’t have to live like that! Try sizing up, sizing down, or trying a different rise (mid-rise vs. high rise). With that said, if you are not using Stretch Athleisure wash to take care of your athleticwear and other high elasticity items (shapewear, swimwear), you are missing out! I firmly believe it has extended the life cycle of my garments.
