Celebrating Conrad's First Birthday: Reflections on My First Year of Motherhood

Today, we celebrate a monumental milestone—my son Conrad's first birthday! This past year has been filled with unimaginable joy, love, and countless cherished moments. Conrad has brought indescribable happiness to our lives, from his infectious giggle to how his eyes light up with curiosity. Watching him grow and discover the world around him has been my greatest gift, and I am endlessly grateful for his presence in our lives.
Motherhood turns you inside out. It's one of those things you hear about—the good, the bad, the ugly—but you can't truly grasp it until you experience it yourself. It challenges and questions every aspect of who you are and what you're made of. This past year has been an emotional roller coaster, filled with moments of joy and challenges. There were days when I felt like I was soaring and others when I questioned if I was doing anything right. And just as you think you’ve got it all figured out, something changes, and you’re back to square one. I’ve learned that the only constant is change, but it’s a great reminder of how strong and adaptable we are as moms. Through it all, my love for Conrad has been the constant, unwavering force that has carried me through… He has somehow figured out how to say “dada” and “Walter,” but I’m still waiting to hear “mama!”
To celebrate Conrad's first birthday, we recently had a photoshoot in our backyard, complete with a cake. It was a fun day filled with lots of giggles and many frosting-covered smiles, including Walter. Here are a few of my favorite pictures capturing the joy and magic of this milestone.
This year has also been a journey of sharing my experiences as a first-time mom through my content on the blog and social media.
