12 Simple Habits to Boost Happiness and Well-Being in 2025
Habits For Happiness
As we kick off a brand-new year, it feels like the perfect time to focus on little things that make a big difference in our happiness and well-being. Winter can feel long and dreary, and staying motivated (or even just positive) isn’t always easy—but it’s definitely possible.
Recently, I asked my amazing community to share the habits and routines that help them feel good, even on the tough days. The responses were so inspiring and full of practical ideas that I couldn’t wait to pull them together into one post. Whether you’re looking to make small tweaks to your daily routine or take bigger steps to prioritize self-care, these tips are all about helping you create a happier, healthier 2025.
Let’s dive in!
One of my favorite responses came from a wise follower who shared her three-step approach to feeling better—and it’s too good not to pass along:
1. Do something off your to-do list that you’ve been putting off. Tackling even one procrastinated task can give you an instant sense of relief and accomplishment.
2. Do something kind for someone else. Whether it’s sending a thoughtful text, surprising a friend with coffee, or helping a neighbor, these acts of kindness create a ripple effect of positivity.
3. Treat yourself—big or small. Celebrate your efforts with something that brings you joy, like a favorite snack, a relaxing bath, or even a little splurge you’ve been eyeing.
It’s such a simple but powerful way to boost your mood while also spreading happiness to others.

1. Start Your Day with Something You Love
Instead of rushing out the door, take a few moments for something that sparks joy—whether that’s savoring a cup of coffee in your favorite cozy spot or journaling your thoughts. I’ve been loving this thermal mug to keep my coffee hot and spill-free all morning—it’s a total game-changer and many of you have raved about this one!
2. Upgrade Your Cozy Game
Feeling cozy can do wonders for your mood. Whether it’s a fresh set of bedding, a new lounge set that makes you feel put together, or soft throw blankets, little upgrades can bring daily happiness. We just upgraded our bedding to this duvet cover and these sheets, and it’s made curling up at the end of the day feel extra luxurious! See everything that’s currently on our bed here and a few lounge sets I found here!
3. HyDration, But Make it Easy
Staying hydrated doesn’t have to be boring! Add lemon to your morning water or use a water bottle that keeps you on track. This spill-proof water bottle has been my go-to—it fits perfectly in the car cupholder and helps me hit my daily hydration goal.
4. Play Your Happy Playlist
Music can shift your mood instantly. Put together a playlist of your favorite feel-good songs, and play it while getting ready or cooking dinner. Spotify’s “Feel-Good Friday” is a favorite starting point if you need inspiration! I have a playlist of songs I like, and every time I hear one, I add it to the mix!
5. Gratitude, Simplified
Jotting down a few things you’re grateful for can reframe your whole mindset. Whether it’s in a beautifully designed journal or on your phone, it’s a simple way to end the day on a positive note. This gratitude journal is both inspiring and so pretty—it makes the practice feel extra special.
6. Move For Joy, Not Obligation
Swap rigid workouts for movement that feels fun. Go for a walk, have a dance party in the kitchen, or try something new. I’ve been incorporating Pilates into my routine two to three times a week, and it’s been a game-changer for both my mental and physical well-being!
7. Treat Yourself
Little indulgences can make a big difference. Whether it’s fancy chocolate, a candle that smells amazing, or flowers for your kitchen, these small treats can brighten your day. These candles have been a favorite lately— the scents last awhile too!
8. Create Micro-Moments of Relaxation
Even just a minute of deep breathing or wrapping yourself in a soft blanket can bring calm to a chaotic day. If you’re looking for a guided option, I love using the “Breath” feature on my smartwatch—it’s such a simple way to reset.
9. Add Color for a mood BoOst
Wearing bright colors can instantly elevate your mood, especially on gray winter days. Try adding a bold scarf or fun earrings to your outfit—it’s a small step with big impact! I even love to wear fun colors when I workout, it gives me a nice boost! As always, I link my daily looks on my LTK storefront so that you can get inspiration here!
10. Connect with someone you love
Even a quick text, call, or funny meme exchange with a friend can brighten your day (and theirs!). Plan a coffee date or a casual get-together—these moments of connection are worth prioritizing. I cannot even tell you how meaningful and important this is to me, especially now that I’m a mom! I love making time for girlfriends to just catch up on life, it fills my cup.
11. Engaging the Senses
Whether it’s lighting a candle, enjoying a soothing cup of tea, or playing calming background music, engaging your senses is an easy way to bring more joy into your day. Light a favorite candle or use a candle warmer lamp to fill your space with soothing scents. A calming playlists or background music create a relaxing and uplifting atmosphere. These sensory habits can help you stay grounded and energized.
12. End the Day on a High Note
Before bed, do something that feels restorative—whether it’s reading a book (even just 10 pages!), enjoying a skincare ritual, or reflecting on a positive moment from your day.

That said, if you’re struggling and need help, please know it’s okay to seek support. I’ve been an avid participant in therapy for nearly 11 years now, and it’s been one of the most transformative and empowering tools in my life. Prioritizing your mental health is an act of strength and self-love.
As we move through the new year, let’s focus on creating moments that feel good, inspire connection, and bring a little more light into our lives. I hope this list sparks some inspiration for you—and if you have your own happiness hacks, I’d love to hear them in the comments or on Instagram!
